46-Year-Old Star Shares a Super Easy Anti-Aging Meal: “I’ve Maintained It for 19 Years”

On a recent episode of Channel A’s show “Life of Men Today - Groom Class,” Jang Woo Hyuk revealed that he has been following a special diet since 2007 to maintain his health and physique.

His breakfast consists of boiled eggs, avocado, pumpkin, and chicken breast sausage. The judges of the show commented that this is undoubtedly a healthy meal, and Jang Woo Hyuk described it as his secret to staying youthful. He explained, “The anti-aging diet has become a part of my daily routine. I’ve been consistently maintaining it for about 19 years.”

Boiled Eggs: A Skin-Loving Source of Protein

Boiled eggs are rich in protein, vitamins, and minerals that are beneficial for skin elasticity. They contain essential amino acids and vitamins A, D, and E, which help repair skin damage and support healthy cell regeneration. The yolk, in particular, is packed with lutein and zeaxanthin, which can protect the skin from UV damage. For this reason, it’s best to eat both the egg white and the yolk.

Avocado: Nature’s Moisturizer

Often called “natural skincare,” avocados are filled with components that benefit skin health. The unsaturated fatty acids in avocados strengthen the skin’s barrier and prevent moisture loss, keeping the skin soft and hydrated. Vitamins E and C act as powerful antioxidants that protect skin cells and stimulate collagen production, which can reduce skin issues and soothe inflammation associated with aging.

Pumpkin: A Nutrient Powerhouse for Skin

Pumpkin is loaded with beta-carotene, vitamins C and E, and fiber—all essential for glowing skin. Once consumed, beta-carotene is converted into vitamin A, which aids in cell regeneration and skin protection. Vitamin C boosts collagen production, helping to prevent wrinkles and improve skin elasticity. Additionally, potassium in pumpkin supports blood circulation and reduces puffiness, making it a great addition to breakfast—especially for those prone to facial swelling.

Chicken Breast: Lean Protein for Firm Skin

Chicken breast is a lean, protein-rich food that supports skin repair and slows down aging. Protein is essential for maintaining skin elasticity, and chicken breast provides high-quality protein that aids in cell regeneration. As we age, loss of muscle mass can cause sagging skin, so consuming enough protein is vital to preserve youthful skin.

Important Note on Chicken Breast Sausages

Commercial chicken breast sausages may contain high sodium levels, so it’s better to make them at home for a cleaner, safer option. Here’s a healthy homemade chicken breast sausage recipe:

Ingredients:

  • 500g chicken breast (skinless and boneless preferred for lower fat)

  • 1 egg

  • 2 tbsp ground oats

  • 1 small shallot, finely chopped

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 tsp sea salt

  • 1/2 tsp black pepper

  • 1 tsp dried herbs (such as basil, oregano, or thyme)

  • Natural sausage casing (choose preservative-free if possible)

  • Olive oil spray (for greasing the mold, if needed)

Instructions:

  1. Finely mince the chicken breast using a food processor or meat grinder.

  2. In a large bowl, mix the ground chicken with egg, ground oats, chopped shallot, minced garlic, salt, pepper, and dried herbs.

  3. Once well combined, stuff the mixture into sausage casings using a sausage stuffer. If you don’t have one, you can use a wide straw or funnel and fill it manually.

  4. Tie both ends of the casing securely. Twist the sausage at intervals of 10–15 cm to divide it into links.

  5. Bring a large pot of water to a gentle boil, lower the heat, and simmer the sausages for 10–15 minutes or until fully cooked.

  6. For added flavor and texture, spray olive oil on the surface and grill the sausages over charcoal or an electric grill until golden and crispy.

Tips:

  • Adjust the seasoning to your taste and feel free to add finely chopped vegetables for extra crunch and aroma.

  • Make sure the sausages are thoroughly cooked to avoid any foodborne risks from raw chicken.

  • These healthy chicken sausages pair perfectly with steamed vegetables or salad, making them an ideal meal for weight management and glowing skin.
